2022 a lot of things changed. LLMs became powerful enough to start solving problems that were not possible before. We have come a long way since then. The core of the transformation is how machines can consume and generate. Its no longer brittle 300 lines of code that would ingest data in a particular format so it makes sense to downstream systems. We now have magic filters that can map any data to something that these brittle systems can understand. Forms are brittle systems that should no longer exist. So does the useless automation tools that are built on top of them.
Where We Are Today: The Current State of Form Automation
More than a year since we have the tech to transform this space, but legacy automation tools are still selling. It does take time to reach and educate the users. Many tools are being built to solve somewhat similar problems but targetting it from different angles. Browser automation, agentic browsers, extensions - coment, automa, But its not just an automation problem, its also a data problem. I shouldnt be needed to provide my data 1000s of times.
What needs to be solved ?
